Cappadocia is a brilliant place to go as a gang. Shared sunrises, a convoy of ATVs kicking up dust, long dinners on a terrace that nobody wants to end. It also rewards a bit of organising, because tours, transfers and rooms get noticeably cheaper per person when you book together. Here's how to plan it without herding cats.
Book as one group, not ten separate people
One booking gets you better rates than ten separate ones. One van instead of four taxis, one tour reservation, one balloon request. Rates usually drop at four people and again at eight, and groups of ten or more, including student trips, can get a price made just for them.
Practical tip: pick one person to talk to us. Group chats are great for memes and terrible for deciding pick-up times.

Balloon flights for a crowd
In peak season, balloon seats are the first thing to sell out, and a big group needs them on the same morning. Ask early, ideally a few weeks ahead. Larger groups can be split across baskets that launch together, so you'll be waving at each other across the valley. Or go big and book a private basket for the whole crew.

Getting everyone from A to B
Once you're four or more, a private airport transfer often costs about the same per person as the shuttle, and it leaves as soon as you land instead of waiting for strangers. Coming down from Istanbul by road? A 7 to 9 seat minivan keeps everyone together, along with the snacks and the arguments about the music.
Where to sleep
Family-run guesthouses and hotels with family rooms are great value for groups, and some will happily give you a whole floor or a terrace to yourselves. Mixed budgets in the group? Choose one hotel with both standard and cave rooms, so everyone stays together but pays what suits them.

Doing it on a shoestring
Skip the balloon flight and watch the show from the ground. Do both full-day tours, stay in a guesthouse, and you'll get most of the magic for a fraction of the cost. Students, this one's for you.
